About Jamie

 Jamie B Edwards

My work is an exploration of shape, line and colour. I enjoy interpreting traditional local scenes in a fresh and contemporary manner, ultimately, encouraging people to rediscover their familiar environments.”

Jamie B Edwards was born in 1976 and, after time spent living in Nottingham, Melbourne, Oxford and Manchester, has now settled in Essex.

In 2008, he graduated from a fine art degree from Loughborough University’s School of Art and Design (LUSAD). He has since then continued to progress his technique in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic and print.

On moving to Nottingham in 2008, Jamie found great inspiration from the city’s eclectic mix of architecture. He explored this subject with simple line drawings before adding colour. This included Nottingham Forest's football ground which is perched on the edge of the River Trent.  Jamie's style suited the subject and from that first ground he has now drawn over 100 around the UK.

His work has been shown nationally and internationally. He worked with UEFA to make a film that was shown at the Europa League 2015 final in Warsaw, published his (now sold-out) book 'Drawing the 92' in 2017 and has had over 50 of his prints featured in an exhibition at the National Football Museum in Manchester, and another in Melbourne, Australia.

His popular works are owned by managers, players and fans alike.

"I am as inspired by the shapes of a football ground as those of a cathedral. By manipulating a simple drawing with colour and shape I try to celebrate both subjects with exciting effect."
